CPMA COmmunity Newsletter

March 11th, 2024

Hello CPMA Families,

I want to thank our community for staying calm and for supporting our efforts last week to reassure students and keep everyone safe. We worked all day with our Campus Police to investigate the threatening posts.  We spoke with dozens of students and families attempting to surface the source of the posts.  We have determined that the rumored threat is not credible and are planning a series of meetings and assemblies in conjunction with our school police, safety resources, and district resources to educate our students on effective and appropriate ways to manage stress and anger, as well as how to manage social media. We hope that all parents can monitor their students phone use so they are aware of what their students are posting and seeing on social media. I encourage you to check out https://www.commonsensemedia.org/ to review parent resources for supporting your students online identity and social media usage.

Thank you,

Principal Pino Antl

Sports Reminder:

CPMA's mission is to prepare artists and scholars for high school opportunities in the arts. Therefore, students enrolled in after school performing arts programs are expected to attend all rehearsals for upcoming Spring Productions. There is not an option to miss production rehearsals in order to attend tryouts/practices for sports. Additionally, spots on sports teams are limited. We ask families to strongly consider if their student can commit to practice 2x a week and 2x games played every Saturday at high schools. We realize that families have multiple options for their child’s health and athletic well-being. Many students participate in sports for outside organizations and we appreciate that. With that in mind, we will prioritize spots on CPMA Teams for students that can make a commitment and for those who may not have the opportunity to play with outside organizations.
